The P90X Workout: How I Changed from a Couch Potato to a Ripped Dude with a Great Bod and a Set of Six-pack Abs to Kill For in Just 90 Days
Feb 9th
I’ve never been into exercise. Not ever. Don’t get me wrong – I’m just as fanatical about sport and athletics as the next guy, but I kinda prefer watching from the sidelines, know what I mean? Like from the comfort of my leather couch – with a cold beer in hand and a bowl of buttered popcorn on my lap, and the TV volume turned up real loud so I don’t miss any of the action.
I always swore that I’d never be one of those vain dudes who checked myself out in the mirror, flexing my muscles and sucking in my gut to make my abs look more impressive. So what changed my mind? Exactly why did I covert from a couch potato to a ripped bod in 90 days? I guess you could say I had a kinda epiphany. Nah – just kidding! It was actually something my girlfriend said. No, in actual fact, it was a couple of things she said – about my body. And none of them were complimentary. When she started throwing words like “beer belly” and “flabby” and “letting yourself go at your age” in my face, I saw the writing on the wall: it was time to take action.
But where to start? Then I remembered a mate of mine who had
signed on for the P90X workout and was raving about it and boasting about it all over the place. Every time I bumped into him in town he would be grinning and jumping around like a cat on a hot tin roof with all this newfound energy, and making fists and flexing his biceps and striking these cute little poses to show off his butt and his new great physique as though he was a contestant in Mr Universe.
I hate it when people flaunt themselves like that, but I had to admit that after 60 days at this P90X business, he was starting to look pretty impressive. All lean and cut and fit and agile. It made me sick to my stomach – with envy.
“Why can’t you look more like him?” my girlfriend said afterwards. No, she didn’t exactly say it – it was more like an accusation snarled through gritted teeth. Know what I mean?
So that was the final straw. I was gonna prove to her that not only would I look more like him, I was gonna beat him at his own game! I was gonna workout like a demon, and at the end of 90 days we’d see who had the best body, the greatest abs, and the biggest biceps. We’d see.
So I leapt off the couch, tossed the popcorn in the bin, stowed the beer away in the fridge for another day, and jumped on my PC to had
sign up for the P90X workout. Okay, I’m not going to go into detail about the ins and outs of their terrific program – you can just click on the link at the end of this article to find out for yourself. But I will say this: whoever designed their workout program knew exactly what they were doing. I mean, if you can convert a flabby, out-of-condition slob like me into a fit, ripped dude in 90 days, then you’ve got the right formula, haven’t you? Here’s a bit of advice though: If you’re going to cry like a girl each time you get sore muscles with the P90X workout, go away now. But if you’ve got the guts to stick it out and look as sharp as a lean, mean machine after 90 days, visit had http://www.getrippedbody.info.

How to Use Essential Oils at Home
Feb 2nd
Distilling the leaves, stems, flowers, roots or bark of plants produces essential oils. Essential oils have been used in many cultures for centuries to aid in both health and beauty. There are dozens of oils available that may be used to treat anything from aging skin to bad breath to coughs and colds. It is believed that the oil will move throughout the body by way of the circulatory and lymphatic systems once it has been absorbed through the skin or inhaled. This encourages the growth of new cells and a quicker elimination of old cells resulting in delays of the aging process and strengthening the body’s various systems. By incorporating essential oils into your life you will quickly notice benefits to your mood, energy level, and overall well-being.
Base oils are used to dilute essential oils before you apply them to your skin.
Some common base oils are:
Almond Oil – light and odourless, contains vitamins A B1, B2 and B6
Grapeseed Oil – light and odourless, contains vitamin E
Hazelnut Oil – has a nutty smell, contains vitamins B1, B2, B6 and E
Sunflower Oil – a light oil that is easy to find, contains vitamins A, B, D, E
Three simple ways to start adding essential oils into your daily routine are by adding them to your bath water, using them in a massage or doing a steam inhalation.
Bath:
Simply mix 3 tsp of base oil with 12 drops of essential oil. Start your bath and right before you hop in add your oil mixture, give the water a swirl, then get in. The warm water helps you relax and also opens your pores to allow the essential oils to penetrate your skin
*Be sure any oil you add to your bath is completely non-irritant
Here are some suggested essential oil recipes to ad to your bath:
Sleepy time bath: when you need to get a good night sleep, mix 5 drops neroli, 4 drops lavender, and 3 drops chamomile
Warming bath: great after a cold winter day, mix 3 drops orange, 3 drops cedarwood, 3 drops eucalyptus, and 3 drops juniper
Stress-buster bath: After a long stressful day relax in this bath with 3 drops rosewood, 3 drops frankincense, 4 drops mandarin, and 2 drops clary sage
Massage:
This is one of the most popular ways to use essential oils. Warm approximately 2 tsp of base oil and add 6 drops total of essential oils. You may pick one essential oil or a combination of 2 or 3 to suit your mood.
Here are some suggestions:
Sensual massage for her: 2 drops jasmine, 2 drops rose, and 2 drops sandalwood
Sensual massage for him: 2 drops frankincense, 2 drops sandalwood, and 2 drops patchouli
PMS massage: 2 drops marjoram, 2 drops rose and 2 drops geranium (massage this over your tummy to relieve the symptoms of PMS)

Here are the combinations you might find helpful:
Wake up inhalation: 2 drops orange, 2 drops bergamot and 2 drops lemon

How Can Swimming Help You Lose Weight?
Feb 1st
You have decided to do something about your excess fat and have chosen swimming as part of your weight loss program. Yup, an excellent choice indeed! Swimming can be fun, challenging and its low impact form of exercise means that you are less prone to sports injuries such as knee, back, neck and hip pain.
Precisely that because swimming is a low impact form of exercise, everyone regardless of age or shape can take part this form of exercise. Swimming is the ideal exercise for many people who can no longer take the high impact exercises because of some diseases or injuries since swimming to not involve joint stress of other exercises such as running or jogging to lose weight and improve their health.
However, there are critics who say that it is not possible to lose weight with swimming but we will not discuss this issue in this article. The fact is that if swimming is combined with a healthy weight loss diet, swimming regularly can certainly help people lose weight as easily as other physical activities meant to burn calories. In fact, for overweight or even obese people, swimming is perhaps the best way to exercise because it alleviates stress on the leg joints, furthermore it has the added benefit of providing a total body cardiovascular workout. That is a bonus, isn’t it?
The American Heart Association reported that just 30 to 60 minutes of physical activity 3 to 4 days per week can help reduce your risk for heart disease, stroke, and diabetes. A regular physical activity program can also help lower your blood pressure and cholesterol.
It is a good idea to monitor the heart rate when you swim because to lose weight effectively with any cardio exercise, you must maintain your heart rate at 70% or more of your maximum heart rate consistently. Your the maximum heart rate is 220 minus your age. So if you are 40 years old, you maximum heart rate is 220 minus 40 which is 180. So you must maintain your heart rate of at least 70% of 180 which is 126.
Many people get hungry after swimming and they often go to a fast food joint and gulp down huge quantities of junk food and sugary drinks. This is one of the reasons critics of swimming as a form of weight loss program point to. So if you must eat, then eat a reasonable amount of healthy food such as good carbs and proteins and do avoid the sugary drinks.
Next, there is a very important think to remember about swimming as a form of exercise is that swimming predominantly activate your “pull muscles”, so it is important to hit the gym to exercise your “push” muscles to avoid muscle imbalances and at the same time, get that nice well toned swimmer’s body, right?
So can swimming help you to lose weight? My answer is it certainly can if you follow the tips given in this article. See you at the pool soon.
